BJ RYAN’S MAGNOLIA ROOM debuts its Sunday Brunch Series with SCOT ALBERTSON (Vocalist – Performer – Producer) & RON JACKSON (Guitar – Composer) on September 9, 2018.  Doors open at 1:30 and the show starts at 3:00.  SCOT will be showcasing music from his NEW 7th CD to be released spring of 2019 (selections of Jazz, Pop, Swing & Folk).  SCOT debuted into the music community June 2005 at the legendary Danny’s on West 46th Street in New York City. Since that debut, Scot has released six self produced CDs, has performed in a myriad of venues within the tri-state area, built an audience base, self produced concerts at Baruch Performing Arts Center & Symphony Space (NYC), established extensive residencies at the Kitano – Tomi Jazz – Laurie Beechman Theatre – Pangea – DiMenna Center. SCOT’S warm welcoming stage presence & Irish bari-tenor voice coupled with RON’S 7 string Eastman Guitar equate to sure fire fun & infectious music!

SCOT ALBERTSON – vocalist, performer, producer and Artistic Director of Project 142 Concert Series, Inc. –  has traveled many paths since graduating Roger Williams College…each of which have connected one path to the next.  After college, Scot served six years plus as a Police Officer for the City of Norwalk CT segueing to a position as an Agent for the U. S. Border Patrol stationed in Arizona.  Intuitively, Scot relinquished his position with the U. S. Border Patrol which led him to becoming a highly successful small business owner within the tri-state area for nineteen years.  Studying voice intensively for four years with Richard Lissemore in NYC, Scot made his performing debut into the music community June 2005 at the legendary Danny’s on West 46th Street in New York City.  From that debut, Scot has performed throughout the tri-state area at a myriad of venues, building an audience, releasing six self produced CDs and extensive performing residencies in New York City (at the Laurie Beechman Dinner Theatre, the Kitano, Tomi Jazz, Parnell’s, Pangea, DiMenna Center and Symphony Space with four self produced two set with two distinct Band concerts).  In Norwalk CT, Scot offered promotional support as well as performing for five years to the Live Green CT Environmental Outdoor Festival Weekend.  Scot appeared for four Project 142 House Concerts created by Founder Dick Leonard in New York City 2012 – 2013 creating a strong connection with Dick.  Scot was hired by Dick Leonard in 2013 as Artistic Director of Project 142 Concert Series taking Project 142 from its simple beginning as a House Concert Series to its current evolutionary transition as a 501(c)(3) Non Profit Organization.  Most recently, Scot co-produced and performed with a Jazz Trio at The Ridgewood Conservatory in Paramus NJ launching the resounding successful expansion of Project 142 Concert Series into New Jersey (June 9, 2018)!  For more information and performing schedule for Scot please visit For Project 142 Concert Series please visit

RON JACKSON is a New York City 6 and 7-string guitar master, composer, arranger, producer, recording artist, educator, and actor. Considered one of the most versatile guitarists in the world, he is adept in styles such as Jazz, Folk, Latin, African, Rock, R&B, Brazilian, Pop, Country, Calypso, Reggae, Soul, Funk, and Classical. Ron has performed, recorded, and taught in over 30 countries with bands and artists such as Taj Majal, Little Anthony and The Imperials, James Spaulding, The Boys Choir of Harlem, The Metro Mass Choir, Mor Thaims Drums of Fire, Irene Reid, Hal Singer, TK Blue, Sarah Dash, Gene Anthony Ray, Cecil Brooks III, TAO, Melvin Rhyne, Jimmy McGriff, 5 Guitars Play Mingus, Cissy Houston, Kevin Powell, Ralph Peterson, Russell Malone, Larry Coryell, Jack Wilkins, Don Braden, Craig Handy, Vanessa Rubin, David Krakauer's Klezmer Madness, Renee Manning, Earl Mcintyre, Clark Gayton, Benny Powell, Babatunde Olatunji, The Metro Mass Choir, Benny Golson, Randy Weston, Ron Carter, Valery Ponomarev, Oliver Lake, Leo Wright, Jaki Byard, Mulgrew Miller, Winard Harper, Akua Dixon, Kenny Drew Jr., Olatunji, Gwen Guthrie, and comedian Tom Papa. He is the founder of indie record label Roni Music. Through his record label Ron is producer and manager of vocalist, dancer, and model Lucia Jackson. Outside of his performance and production career, Ron is also an esteemed music educator. He currently teaches guitar at Jazz at Lincoln Center, The New School, Midori and Friends, and is the founder of He is a Contributor/Writer for Acoustic Guitar Magazine where he has published educational and guitar instructional articles. Ron has also written articles for Downbeat Magazine. Most recently Ron has held master classes, concerts and workshops at Jazz at Lincoln Center-Jazz in the Schools, The Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, Escuela Creativa Musica, Madrid Spain and California State University.
