Don Shelden will be paying tribute to Frank Sinatra as he performs “The Frank Sinatra Jukebox” on September 28, 2019 at 8PM. Master pianist Mike Renzi, legendary bassist Jerry Bruno and Tony Tedesco on drums will be appearing with Don along with special guest singer Annette Sanders.
Don has worked with such greats as the Grammy Award-winning master arranger Marion Evans on two previous albums — Don has also worked with Emmy Award-winning pianist and arranger Mike Renzi, in addition to Grammy-nominated pianist, arranger and conductor Nick Perito and Grammy-nominated pianist Derek Smith along with legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli.
Mike Renzi This legendary Providence musician achieved international success along three career paths: as a jazz pianist, a vocal accompanist and music director for some of the finest singers of the 20th century including Lena Horne, Peggy Lee, Mel Torme, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra. Mike is also a TV and film composer with 7 Emmy Awards and 2 Grammy’s.
Jerry Bruno played with Frank Sinatra over a number of years beginning in 1979, including, Carnegie and Radio City Music Hall as well as tours throughout Brazil and the US. Jerry played with Frank Sinatra to frenzied crowds at the Rio Palace in Rio de Janeiro. He also toured and performed with greats such as Liza Minnelli, Tommy Dorsey and Louis Prima. Jerry met guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli in 1948 when they were both playing in Vaughn Monroe's big band; they have been playing together ever since.
Tony Tedesco has toured with many top vocalists and entertainers including Peggy Lee, Perry Como, Vic Damone, Chris Connor, Dick Haymes, Mickey Rooney, Donald O'Connor, and Milton Berle. He has performed on classic major television shows from The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, The Mike Douglas Show, Phil Donahue, and Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder, up to the shows of David Letterman and Conan O'Brien.
Annette Sanders is a much sought-after studio singer. Her distinctly recognizable sound has been heard on literally thousands of jingles, movie soundtracks and CDs. She has worked with the "who's who" of the music industry - from pop to jazz - Dionne Warwick, Roberta Flack, Mel Torme, Michel LeGrand, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Gerry Mulligan, Gloria Estefan, and Barbra Streisand to name a few.
